Image alternative text needs editorial judgment. Begin with what an image communicates where it appears, rather than treating every empty field as a mistake. A purely decorative image can appropriately have empty alternative text; an informative image needs text that carries its purpose in context.
For a manageable review session, choose a small group of media-library images. Open their attachment records and the pages where they are used. Compare the saved library text with the text actually used in each page. Existing WordPress image blocks may keep their own alternative text, so a library edit is not evidence that every placement changed.

The plugin does not invent descriptions, send images to an AI service, rewrite posts, or assign an accessibility score. Review marks record a person's workflow decision, not proof of compliance. The latest 500 marks per user are retained, and saved marks remain available after deactivation and uninstall.
For complex diagrams, consider whether the page needs a longer visible explanation as well as a short alternative. For linked images, consider the purpose of the link. For repeated placements, revisit the surrounding text. These decisions should reflect the actual content rather than keywords or a promise of better rankings.
